These NASA and SCCA complaint ApexPai Spec Mazda Miata offset bushing upper control arms are made from a specialty motorsports grade of thermoplastic. Bearing additives in the material make these bushings require no grease for a no-maintenance design. This is priced per pair of new control arms for NA and NB cars, bolt-on ready.
The align-press-ream process:
We install these Mazda Miata offset bushings using a custom jig and press which keeps the bushings aligned with one another, and oriented properly to achieve maximum camber. Offset holes become egg-shaped after being pressed in to the arm-most offset control arm bushings on the market compensate for this by having oversized holes for the inner sleeve, or shipping bushings with instructions to open up the hole with a reamer after installation. For the best inner sleeve fit, we ream the hole after the press fit for a more precise inner-sleeve fit.
The inner sleeves are engineered to distribute the load from the long-bolt, reducing contact pressure on the subframe. Other design bushing sets out there will dig in to the subframe, causing the long bolt to loosen during use.
